Say Hello to My New Etsy Shop!

Drumrolll please... my Etsy shop, The Bells & Whistles, finally went live this week! The store features vintage jewelry and home decor. There will be more products added over the next few weeks and I have some fun up-cycling projects in the works. It's honestly a little more work than I imagined, from researching to photographing and measuring each item, but I have enjoyed every minute. If you have a moment, please take a look at my shop and if you feel so inclined "like" it on Facebook

On a side note, I am getting back into the swing of things after having my mom here for a week and a half. I had fun playing tourist with her, stay tuned for photos from our explorations. Today, we are off to the North Bay for a hike with the pups. Hope you have some fun adventures this weekend!

become part of my journey

My Mom's Comin' to Town!

It's been about six months since my move to San Francisco and the day before we drove out of Atlanta was the last time I saw my mom. She had recently discovered that she had thyroid cancer and underwent one surgery a couple weeks before I left, and then another to remove the remainder of her thyroid just after. It was hard not being there when she got out of the hospital the second time. She is the sweetest, most loving person I know and I cannot wait to give her a huge hug.

Me + my mom on Easter, many moons ago...
Always stylishly feminine, she is a rocking a polka dot dress with a ruffled peplum-like detail.

MODA - Museum of Design Atlanta

image from www.museumofdesign.org

I was SO excited when I heard the Museum of Design Atlanta would be opening in a new location directly across the street from the High Museum of Art and directly below the new home of architectural and design firm, Perkins + Will.
Me at MODA's former location in Fall '09
MODA's previous home in the Marquis II tower in downtown was lacking due to it's location, which was off the beaten path for many museum goers. Honestly I also felt that there was something missing within the space.

Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles 10 under 40 Party

Every year in their March issue Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles selects locals that they recognize as rising stars in the design industry. This year's list of who's who among Atlanta's tastemakers couldn't have been more on point. In celebration of the 10 successful, stylish Atlantans a soiree was held at Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams's Buckhead showroom.
While chatting it up with Editor, Clinton Smith, and decorator and 10 under 40 recipient, Brian Patrick Flynn, we were were snapped by photographer, Kim Link.
Spotted at the AH&L 10 under 40 Party (top, center)
We also got to catch up with several other stylish Atlantans including uber-talented AH&L Associate Editor and friend, Kate Abney; savvy designer and 10 under 40 recipient, Niki Papadopoulos; and commercial real estate guru and 2006 recipient, Gene Kansas. There are few things better than dressing up and spending an evening with those that inspire you. There is no doubt the future burns bright for these 10, I cannot wait to see what it has in store!

Thank you Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles!

My 28th!!

I started the day with a massage that made it the most relaxed birthday ever (massages should be mandatory for everyone's birthday). I decided to keep it simple and invited a few close friends to dinner at Varasano's Pizzeria. My favorite thing on the menu is the Dolce Pizza with Medjool Dates & Fontina dressed with Honey,Walnuts & Rosemary -- Mmmmmm -- positively delicious.

Me and Shelly, a fellow blogger.

My dear friend, Kate, and fellow Wonderluster, Jona, were the creative force behind the the best presentation of a giftcard ever. Together they went through Anthropologie taking pictures of things they knew I would love and printed them Polaroid style with descriptions.
