Fresh Foodie {Flaugnarde with Roasted Berries}

I am very excited about our first guest blogger series, Fresh Foodie. Contributer, JoAnna J. Garnto, is the voice behind blog, re-U.

Q & A
Q: What would you say you enjoy most about cooking?
A: What I love most about cooking is the final product, the enjoyment of sharing something healthy that I created with friends & family. Besides enjoying the results, I love the process. It can be very therapeutic some days to pour myself a glass of wine and dive into a new recipe.

Q: What is the motivation behind the recipes you select?
A: Matt and I try to eat a well balanced diet consisting of "whole foods" as much as possible so I'm always looking for new ways to try leafy greens & other favorite vegetables. I try to use local/seasonal produce as much as possible as well, not only to support local farmers but also because local produce has much better nutritional value since it is fresher and has not been shipped across the country.

Q: How does your lifestyle/location affect the frequency/type things you cook?
A: This past summer when I was working for a CSA share from Cane Creek Farm we were eating whatever came in our share. We both got kinda tired of okra :) Like I said before we just try to eat what is in season and local and incorporate as many fresh vegetables as possible. We eat alot of kale, salad greens, spinach and collards. Since we live an hour from a grocery store with a good organic selection I try to only make the trip every other week. It takes some planning and organization, but it's well worth it!

Q: How would you describe yourself?
A: I'm happy and emotional. Serious and silly. I'm well balanced and a train wreck all at the same time. I'm a typical female full of contradictions...But I think at my hearts center I am a creative and compassionate person who loves life and I enjoy it as much as possible.  I'm so grateful for the blessings that have been showered on me throughout my life. I hope that I can share goodness with people that I come into contact with.

And now without delay...Flaugnarde with Roasted Berries

I hope you feel inspired to try out this delicious recipe, or to simply make something homemade. Thanks JoAnna!

Please stay tuned, more guest blogger series are in the works!
