We have been on the hunt for reclaimed wood to use for shelves in our dining room / office since moving into our new place. On the weekends we drove to Oakland, Berkeley, and a few places around San Francisco exploring the available options. We even considered using Ikea counters or shelves but persisted on because we knew that we wanted something more unique (and environmentally friendly). After reading some raving Yelp reviews for Building REsources in San Francisco we decided to check it out.
We were not disappointed by their selection (or friendly staff). Had we not found exactly what we were looking for I am sure we would have re-visited in the future future to check out new inventory. The place is full of inspiration and I had all sorts of future projects buzzing in my head while walking around.

Looking for a few more pieces.
Things are finally settling down at our new home so we should be able to start the shelf project soon. Being salvage the wood is not perfect and lengths are not consistent. We need to confirm measurements, cut, and start drilling holes in the antique mill spools that will be used as supports between the shelves before we can began assembling. I will post photos once the project is complete!
